Email?

Hmm. I am not getting any email. Let’s check the network status for the provider….

Yeah. That might be a problem. Thanks for sucking neureal!

And an update…

Some domains may be experiencing a DNS Outage. This affects only a small percentage of domains on our servers, which, however, is still a very large real number of domains. We are currently spearheading two efforts to resolve this issue. One effort is hunting down and restoring known domains that are affected, while other is rebuilding all our domains so that we are sure we get every single domain up and running. Unfortunately there is no ETA for when the final domains will be restored, but we are making a good progress. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you

Funny thing. It was faster for me to switch to another provider instead of waiting for the assclowns to restore my DNS. I am also saving a few bucks each month in the process. Buh bye neureal….

probikekit.com

Thursday night I placed an order with probikekit.com for a new cassette. Since they are based in the UK, I assumed it would take at least a week for the goods to arrive in California. I was shocked when I saw a package from them today–as in Monday! Looks like they will get my business again.

MacBook Update

Posted in General, apple by twothirds on the August 4th, 2006

After a few months with my macbook, I have been hit with a few defects.

  1. Moo - Yes, my macbook moos. This is a rather clever hack to resolve the issue
  2. Stains - Mine is nice and dirty now, but apple has shipped me a box and once I back up my data, it will be going back for a new case.
  3. Random Shut off - Now my macbook is randomly shutting off. Based upon a few internet searches, this seems to be a known issue with some MB’s and apple is fixing it. It looks like I will be making another call to apple support so I can get a 2 for 1 fix when my MB goes back for the new case.

Even with these few issues, I still love the macbook. What do I love?

  • Great battery life
  • Quiet, except for a little mooing
  • Light
  • Great form factor which is actually usable on an airplane
