This always happens this time of year–I feel the need for a new bike. For the past two years I have been hankering for fixed/single speed. As with any bike, I have size issues. Most are too short at the top tube and bike shops just don’t stock my size; anything I buy is a bit of a leap of faith. Based upon geometry stats, the Kona Paddy Wagon might work out. Maybe an IRO? Surly? Too many options, but not enough dealers

I could always convert Big Red to a fixed, but that seem like too much of a hack.

I finally canceled my old Tivo box that was on a month to month account. I really liked my Tivo and I have issues with my Comcast DVR, but due to price considerations and HD, Tivo got the boot. I expected a bit of a run around with the cancelation, but I was a bit surprised at all the FUD the Tivo rep spewed my way. The call was about 15 minutes so I got a lot of it. Two of the more interesting items included:

The Comcast DVR cannot record two HD streams at once. And that’s a fact!

Uh…So I how was I recording both the Warriors game and House in HD last night? I guess the planets were aligned properly.

Comcast DVR is not true HD. HD content looks much better through Tivo series 3.

While Comcast does send a crappy signal my way, at the end of the day, Tivo processes the same feed! Both Tivo and Comcast DVR suffer from garbage in garbage out issues. Is the new Tivo going to magically upconvert my signal?

I have no problem listening to a bit of marketing while I try and cancel my account, but please do not spout lies.

I was walking to blockbuster yesterday (going green I guess) and I overheard the following while passing by a house:

Five minutes against the wall for talking shit!

Hmm. I wonder who taught the kid to talk shit.
